All Skullcandy wireless earbuds include a reset function that can address performance and connection problems, but none has a dedicated reset button. The correct sequence depends on your model.
Unpair your earbuds first
Remove the existing pairing before resetting so the earbuds do not try to reconnect during the process.
- Open your device’s Bluetooth Settings.
- Find your Skullcandy earbuds in the paired-device list.
- Tap the Settings icon on Android or the ‘i’ icon on iOS beside their name, then select Forget This Device.
For an additional precaution, switch off your device’s Bluetooth after unpairing.

- Put both earbuds in the charging case.
- Remove the right earbud.
- Tap its control touch panel 4 times to switch it off and reset it. Its LED must turn red; repeat this step until it does.
- Return the right earbud to the case.
- Remove the left earbud and repeat the removal and four-tap reset sequence.
Other Indy reset sequences
The source provides two additional variant procedures:
- Remove both earbuds from the case.

Resetting and troubleshooting questions
What does a reset do?
A reset returns the earbuds to their factory or default state and addresses sound or connection problems that may have arisen during configuration.
- Audio problems: Firmware issues can cause lag or static. Restoring the factory firmware can remove these glitches.
- Pairing problems: Software errors can interrupt audio or prevent playback entirely. Resetting clears these errors.
If a reset does not help, particularly with fairly new earbuds, a defect may be responsible. All Skullcandy earbuds carry a one-year warranty; consider submitting a warranty claim if other measures fail.
How do I reconnect after resetting?
Most models can reconnect immediately. The Dime 2 and Method Active, for example, enter pairing mode automatically after a reset. If reconnection does not happen automatically:
- Open Bluetooth Settings on your device and enable Bluetooth.
- Find and select your Skullcandy earbuds among the available devices.
- Choose Pair or Connect when prompted.
What if the earbuds will not charge?
Dirt inside the case can prevent full contact with the charging plate. Thoroughly wipe the earbuds and case using a lint-free cloth or cotton buds dampened with alcohol.
What if connection problems persist?
Outdated firmware can prevent pairing. Updates improve operation by providing bug fixes and additional features. Download the Skullcandy app to receive firmware updates and install them when available.
